The Crimson Ghost – 1946

Posted in Movies, Music on August 15, 2012 by tlbanks2483

The Crimson Ghost serials from the 40’s would be a real treat to watch. If I can ever get the time of course. All of the classic serials are on Youtube available for viewing. Most people will notice that its also The Misfits Crimson Ghost. They swindled this character from the Crimson Ghost serials for use as a Mascot of sorts for their Horror Punk Rock endeavors. Anytime you see the Crimson Ghost within a split of a second your thinking Misfits (atleast for me anyways). Most people forget this is a character from classic Cinema now recognized as a face in Punk Music.

The Beyond – 1981

Believe it or not I’ve never seen this movie. I’ve just recently gotten into the Italian Zombie/Horror Explotation films of the 70’s and 80’s. This looks to be a good one. Lucio Fulci is the master. ZOMBIE is a great film as is City of the Living dead. I’m looking forward to watching this sometime soon. Looks scary!

Near Dark – 1987

Near Dark is a brillant example of an unique Vampire film gone right! These blood suckers aren’t your garden variety Vampires. They have more of a cannibalistic quality to them. This film is a must see for any fan of the Vampire genre. Forget Twilight! Near Dark is what you crave….

London After Midnight – A silent film that deserves a remake.

Posted in Horror, Movies on December 15, 2011 by tlbanks2483

I know very little of the silent film “London After Midnight”. I know that it has Lon Chaney Sr starring as the grinning Vampire who roams the streets of London after midnight (biting necks of course). There are no known copies of this film in existense from what i understand. The last known copy of the film was destroyed in a fire several yr’s after its release. It was the highest grossing Horror/Vampire film of it’s time. To some in that era it was the most terrifying piece of film ever seen. Still to this day nobody has seen it since its original release. Which is why this needs the remake treatment. The premise for the film is still there, so come on Hollywood! Remake something that is not as well known and heard of. Instead of milking off the success of a horror film that was made 20 or 30 yr’s ago. Remake something that deserves it! I’ve seen so many stills of Lon Chaney in full makeup, and WOW! This would “To me atleast story wise” seem to be alittle bit more scarier or even more frightening than the steady supply of SAW films that are crapped out every October.

Meat Rotten Meat!

I’m such a huge fan of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Most especially The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2. Chop Top (featured in TCM2) has to be hands down my favorite character next to Leatherface. So when i stumbled across some tunes featuring Bill Moseley (the actor who played Chop Top in TCM2) and the musician BucketHead collaborating on some pretty twisted tunes. I just had to listen. This song in paticular “Meat Rotten Meat” is pretty much a funny/pointless song. But anything featuring my favorite clan of cannibalistic texans i’ll give a listen to. Gotta love it! TCM RULES!!!!

I finally decided to get back on here and update it alittle bit while watching Cannibal Holocaust. Which by all means is one of the many few Hardcore Horror films I’ve ever seen. Its a brutal and morbid tale of survival in the jungle. I’m sure trying to escape the clutches of a Cannibalistic South American tribe is not pretty by any means. Which in theory is why I feel the need to watch it from time to time with a barf bag in hand. The movie gets me everytime. I’ll try to keep up with the site more as the weeks progress. Keep stopping by

The Dead Next Door – I love zombies

Posted in Horror, Movies on March 2, 2010 by tlbanks2483

I came across this zombie flick called “The Dead Next Door”. I’m shocked that i’ve not heard of this film before. I’m a huge zombie/vampire nut. So to come across a zombie flick that looks so hardcore is a real treat. I’ve added it to my Netflix instant queque. So i can’t wait to watch it later on tonight. Just from watching this preview, plus a couple other short clips. I can safely say i’m really gonna enjoy this. Bring on the gore baby!

A Clockwork Orange & 2001 A Space Odyssey – My favorite Kubrick films

Posted in Movies on February 13, 2010 by tlbanks2483

Sometimes I get the urge to pop in “A Clockwork Orange”. Its one of my many guilty pleasures. A Clockwork Orange is so F***ed up! its crazy. I remember the first time i saw this movie. I was 15 yrs old, a freshman in high school, all that good stuff. I rented this movie on VHS from the library! I got carded today, when i went out to see “The Wolfman”. Yet at the tender age of 15 (insert laughter here) i’m able to check out
A Clockwork Orange” from the library. So at that age i’m watching it, and been in love with the film ever since. I even own the soundtrack on compact disc. Not too mention it was directed by Stanley Kubrick. I’m a huge Kubrick fan by the way.. This was the first film that exposed me to who Stanley Kubrick was at the time. Than after that is was “2001: A Space odyssey”. 2001 as though the movie is visually freakin amazing. Its a hard film to follow. But its basically an acid trip from hell. Gotta love em!

P.S. The novel A Clockwork Orange is hard as hell to read be the way….
