London After Midnight – A silent film that deserves a remake.

I know very little of the silent film “London After Midnight”. I know that it has Lon Chaney Sr starring as the grinning Vampire who roams the streets of London after midnight (biting necks of course). There are no known copies of this film in existense from what i understand. The last known copy of the film was destroyed in a fire several yr’s after its release. It was the highest grossing Horror/Vampire film of it’s time. To some in that era it was the most terrifying piece of film ever seen. Still to this day nobody has seen it since its original release. Which is why this needs the remake treatment. The premise for the film is still there, so come on Hollywood! Remake something that is not as well known and heard of. Instead of milking off the success of a horror film that was made 20 or 30 yr’s ago. Remake something that deserves it! I’ve seen so many stills of Lon Chaney in full makeup, and WOW! This would “To me atleast story wise” seem to be alittle bit more scarier or even more frightening than the steady supply of SAW films that are crapped out every October.

The film was already remade into a sound film by the same director Tod Browning in 1935’s “Mark of the Vampire” with Bela Lugosi and Lionel Barrymore.
